With the Activiti beta1 release, we included the first version of Activiti Cycle, the tool which tries to help you in your BPM, process and/or software implementation project. I already gave a first preview in Activiti Cycle explained, for which we got quite some positive feedback. Today I want to sketch the planned roadmap of Activiti Cycle for the next months, basically till the release in December (called Activiti 5.0). I try to do this in a longer post with a couple of screen mockups, to make it as concrete as possible. This should help everybody to get the idea, in which direction we are currently heading. Feedback based on this is very welcome, since I go to vacation for two weeks on Friday, you have some time to think about it Read on..
Even if the Activiti beta2 is not yet out of the door, the first customers start asking for it. And if you don’t want to go into production tomorrow, we think it is a good time to start using Activiti: The basis is already good and it stabilizes with every version (and every month, a new version is shipped). So my colleague Falko delivered already the second Activiti Workshop and this time he was pretty enthusiastic about it:
Just finished another two-day training on Activiti and it seems that Activiti has already become a complete replacement for jBPM with a feature set that satisfies customer’s needs.
Recently our friends at Signavio demonstrated us the new iPad Edition of their process modeler. I really like it: You can model your processes “on the go”, e.g. while walking around in a company for capturing As-Is processes or getting ideas for process improvement.
They have put a small video about that edition on YouTube.
